• Avoid Mistakes

Do not take this matter lightly. If you are convicted this can stay on your record for the rest of your life.

Hiring the right attorney to represent you in a timely manner. In order for your lawyer to start building a solid case, he needs witnesses and statements from you to clearly depict what happened. An attorney with experience and expertise is best to gather a good investigation of the facts.

Comply with the laws. Driving after your license has been revoked is illegal and will result in jail time. By following regulations you will be eligible for limited privilege driving after 10 days of the initial 30 day suspension, but only if you meet certain requirements.

Be responsible. Appear in court or else there will be a warrant for your arrest.

What must be proven in order for you to be found guilty:
That you were operating a motor vehicle in North Carolina while your blood alcohol level was .08 or higher OR appreciable impaired of your physical faculties OR any amount of a schedule I controlled substance, as listed in G.S. 90-89, or it's metabolites in your blood or urine.
